Eye M.D. Definition

An Eye M.D. is an ophthalmologist - a medical doctor who provides the full spectrum of eye and vision care. From eyeglasses to contact lenses, to medication and surgery, your Eye M.D. will help you keep your sight for life.

How to Use Eye M.D.

Use the term Eye M.D. whenever you would use ophthalmologist.

  • With your patients
  • On office stationery, appointment reminders and business cards

Guidelines for Eye M.D. Use

The following guidelines are designed to ensure that Eye M.D. becomes and remains another name for an ophthalmologist. A name that delivers a clear understanding of what an ophthalmologist is and what he or she stands for-a committed, competent and caring medical doctor who provides comprehensive eye and vision care.

Use Eye M.D.:

  • As a descriptive suffix to your name to indicate that you are a medical doctor specializing in eye and vision care
  • As a descriptive suffix to your practice's name to indicate that your practice specializes in eye and vision care
  • Printed in the same font, type size and style as the rest of your practice name or the surrounding text in other materials

Don't Use Eye M.D.:

  • As a trademark
  • As a logo
  • To sell products
